Wandering Stars
"Wandering stars" is an ancient term used to describe what we now know as planets. In ancient times, people observed certain bright objects in the night sky that moved in a different pattern compared to the fixed stars. These objects would appear to wander through the constellations, changing their positions night after night. Unlike stars, which maintain relatively constant positions in the sky, these wandering stars showed noticeable motion over days, weeks, and months.
Although Earth’s Moon was also part of the wandering stars, today we will be focusing on the wandering stars that are planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, which are part of our solar system and orbit around the Sun.
